Say hello to Bastien! This gorgeous, 40-pound Terrier mix with splotches like a cow is looking for a family to join! Bastien came to us from a shelter in Louisiana. Bastien was in an overcrowded Louisiana shelter before Hurricane Ida hit. The Kentucky Humane Society transferred him, along with over 60 other pets, to KHS for a second chance at finding their forever home. In this way, KHS is helping Louisiana shelters make room for more owner-surrendered animals as well as lost pets so they can be reunited with their families! Bastien is brand new to the shelter, so we know very little about him. He appears sociable around people and enjoys walking. Since he’s still mastering the habit of housetraining, he would love a family that is patient and encouraging! He has met some older kids indoors and did well, but he was overwhelmed with several small children who were shouting outside. He would love to meet potential children siblings to make sure they’re not overbearing. We have not seen how Bastien acts around cats or dogs. You can always bring your dog to meet him, though! Bastien is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his shots.
